Confined Space Entry Refresher


These courses offer a comprehensive review of the regulatory requirements and field techniques necessary to efficiently and proficiently perform the duties a Confined Space Rescue Team. Students must have completed an initial course to participate in these refreshers classes. Classes include, but are limited to the following topics

What You Will Learn

Basic Refresher 8 hrs

  • Brief review of characteristics of confined spaces
  • Brief overview of OSHA 1910.146/7
  • Brief review of responder’s responsibilities
  • Brief review of ventilation
  • Brief review of lock-out/tag-out
  • Brief overview of respiratory protection requirements
  • Basic rope review
  • Simulated practical confined space rescue drill

Upgraded Refresher 16 hrs

  • Confined Space Entry Program Design Briefing
  • Illustration of characteristics of confined spaces
  • Description of OSHA 1910.146/7
  • Review of responder’s responsibilities
  • Ventilation basics
  • Lock-out/tag-out 1910.147
  • Respiratory Protection requirements
  • Rope/rigging/mechanical advantage/basket operations/harness construction
  • Simulated practical confined space rescue drill


Courses are usually held at the client’s facility but can be conducted at one of our training facilities. We strongly encourage the use of the client’s facility and equipment in performing rescue drills. However, our rescue training simulator can be utilized if facility access is unavailable
