Who is this for? This course is designed for workers who may come into contact with hazardous chemicals during the course of their work.
Course Description

Topics include an overview of hazard communication standards, requirements and responsibilities, training requirements, hazard chemical characteristics, container labeling and other hazard warnings, safety data sheets, employee training requirements, and hazard prevention. This course focuses on the specific requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200 Subpart Z and global harmonization requirements. This course includes but is not limited to the following:

 

Course Description Points

 

    • Describe the six main elements covered in a hazard communication plan
    • Identify the labeling information required on every hazardous chemical covered under the standard
    • Describe the Global Harmonization requirements as applied to the workplace
    • Describe the labeling requirements for portable containers
    • Describe the sections on a Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
