This course is for individuals who will potentially be exposed to hazardous material regularly at the workplace and will conduct offensive maneuvers in dealing with hazardous materials. Typically, sites that maintain a Hazardous Materials Crew on site. |
Course Description |
Meeting the requirements of OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER standard, EI’s initial courses satisfy the training requirements for workers on-site where hazardous materials may be encountered. Depending upon the length of course, topics may cover specific limited tasks or in a monitoring and a characterized area where respirators are not required up to full Level A Personal Protective Equipment. The courses include a review of confinement and containment techniques to control the release of a hazardous material, incident management, methods, and procedures for recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazardous substance, how to select and use appropriate respiratory protection equipment and personal protective equipment for responding, a how to on combustible gas detectors, oxygen meters and detector tubes to evaluate the hazards present at an incident. The course will be tailored to fit the site-specific needs. |
